Something Like Happiness

A married Indian woman in her thirties reconnects with an old friend after more than a decade in New York City. They meet in a park, catching up about life. Her friend, now working as a babysitter, invites her over to her employer’s apartment in Woodside. In the apartment, the two women delve into a particular shared memory from their past. This conversation stirs forgotten emotions, blurring the lines between memory and reality.

Director’s Bio: Born and raised in Nepal, Apar moved to the U.S. in 2015 to pursue his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering at Howard University. A film lover since his early teens, he discovered his real passion for filmmaking during his college years. After graduating, he knew he had to pursue a career in filmmaking. He completed his Master of Arts in Media Studies from The New School in 2022. Since then, Apar has been working and living in New York City.
