On the 5th anniversary of Isaac’s partner’s passing, he checks into a hotel, hoping to reconnect with the world. There, he meets Andrew, who is seeking both safety and a fleeting hookup. Their encounter evolves into something profound as they allow themselves to be real and vulnerable in a space that demands authenticity.

Director’s Bio: Edrian Pangilinan (he/him) is a Filipino-American content creator/filmmaker/photographer + dance artist based in San Diego, CA. He is a co-founder of “The Filam Film Collective ” along with Marissa Roxas & Trixi Agiao which aims to amplify fellow Fil-Am + AAPI voices into today’s media. His work is greatly inspired by his press for representation as a brown, filipino and queer human. He is grateful to finally pursue his dreams of becoming a filmmaker focusing on LGBTQIA+ themes that challenge the status quo AND initiate dialogues necessary for change

Queer (Be)longing

Everyone wants to find their people. Humans crave connection and intimacy whether searching for a friendship or a romantic relationship. Sometimes, we find lifelong partners and friends. Other times, we’re left wanting more time, more depth, more people, just more. The desire for belonging and acceptance is universal across genders, sexualities, and countries but is uniquely felt by those with marginalized identities such as LGBTQ+ people. These films capture the heartache and frustration of seeking acceptance and love, contrasted with the joy and relief when you find someone who cares for you deeply.
