Journeys to Freedom: The Vietnamese Refugee Story

Directed by Melodee Mercer, Tom Daly

Journeys to Freedom tells the stories of Vietnamese refugees who left Vietnam in overcrowded boats risking life and limb for freedom after the fall of Saigon. Filmed against the backdrop of the Vietnamese Heritage and Freedom Monument on the grounds of the Philadelphia Vietnam Memorial, it is a tale of courage, of success and of gratitude for the American Veterans who fought for them, and in some cases, fought side-by-side with them. This is a film that every American should see to better understand the harrowing, yet inspiring journey from Vietnam to America; it is especially important for Vietnam Veterans who will better understand their legacy.
