Purea

Māori elder, Hamo, returns to her ancestral home and finds it empty. Offering karakia (prayers) she calls on the house to release the spirits of those who have passed on. In the river where the past and present collide, Hamo is overwhelmed by memories. She continues her journey to the top of her tribe’s sacred mountain. As dark meets the dawn, she releases her family into the warmth of the rising sun.
