Rental Instructions

Before You Watch

  • Open the program only on the device and browser that you plan on watching it in its entirety. Once you open the film, you cannot re-open the film on another device or browser. See supported devices and browsers below.
  • Once you begin watching a program, you will have 24 hours to complete it.
  • Each film has a different geoblocking region. You can find information on film geo-availability here.
  • Some films have limited availability during our festival. You can find a list of limited-availability films here.

How To Watch

  • Buy your pass here! (Passes do not include in-person programs)
  • Once you’ve purchased a ticket to rent a film, you’ll receive a confirmation email from “2021 PAAFF Tickets” with a link to your virtual screening room.
  • Click your personalized on-demand pass link. This will take you to your own personalized On-Demand Pass page.
  • Open the program only on the device and browser that you plan on watching it in its entirety. Once you open the film, you cannot re-open the film on another device or browser. See supported devices and browsers below.
  • Click on your program of choice.
  • Click play on the video player.
  • You do not need to click or refresh anything throughout the viewing experience. Each part will play automatically, including the pre-show, screening, and/or post-show Q&A.
  • The film will be available for 24 hours after you press play.
  • Sit back and enjoy.

After You Watch

  • PAAFF gives out “Audience Choice” awards to feature films, so make sure you fill out a ballot for all of the films you watch! We’ll announce the audience winner at the end of the festival on our social media channels.
  • Don’t forget to check out the nominees for our “Best of” awards. We’ll be announcing them very soon!

Rental FAQs

 

What are the system requirements?

You can watch content on PCs running Windows 7+, and Intel-based Macs running OSX 10.12+. While you can watch films on Android tablets and phones using Chrome, and iPhones and iPads using Safari— we do not recommend this method as it is more difficult to troubleshoot any technical issues you may have.

 

What are the requirements for Windows computers?

Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10

Supported browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Opera. We recommend using the latest version of your browser. Internet Explorer is not supported.

 

What are the requirements for Mac computers?

Mac OSX 10.12 or later

Supported browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Opera. We recommend using the latest version of your browser.

 

Can I watch content on my iPhone/iPad?

Yes, you can watch content using Safari on iOS 11.2 or later. Please note that you must have “Screen Mirroring” turned off for content to play.

 

Can I watch content on my Android Device?

Yes, you can watch content using Chrome on Android 6.0 or later.
