“Rooted” is a music video that portrays the many faces and places of the Pacific. A collaboration between filmmakers and artists from around the region, it is an anthem for strength, unity and resilience. With dancers and musicians from Fiji, Tonga, Banaba, Rotuma, Marshall Islands and the Solomon Islands, the video portrays how art plays a part in our identity as people of the Pacific.

About the filmmaker:Morteza Mirmontazemi was born in 1984 in Mashhad, Iran. He has an M.A. in Theater Directing and is the founder of Mashgh Theater Group in Iran. In 2005, Morteza Mirmontazemi started his activities and has been appreciated in theater festivals in Iran and also has had different performances at international festivals in Netherland, France, Italy, Poland, Japan, Czech Republic, Belarus, South Korea, and Armenia. He has directed the short films: “Silent” (2016) and “On the Branches” (2017).
