From the ocean, Suzu returns to their quiet seaside town in Japan, to find that their grandmother has reincarnated into a sea turtle. Seeing the hometown they once knew as long gone – including the beloved garden – Suzu struggles to talk to her grandmother about relocating. Both must undergo their own process of reconnection to each other and with themselves.

Director’s Bio: Asuka Lin is a Japanese-Taiwanese director and DP, born in Nishinomiya, Japan and currently residing in Los Angeles. Their directorial work spans across various genres, but mainly focused within magical realism, encircling stories of diaspora, yearning, and the construct of memory.
