Fighting for Identity
- Short Film Programs
- 60 mins
How do people discover who they are meant to be? How can they carve out a safe space in a hostile society? This showcase features three individuals, dancer/choreographer Caili Quan and fictional protagonists Eng and Shin-mi, all fighting to carve out identities for themselves. Whether through contemporary dance, basketball, or nightclub performance, these films show the ways in which performance can be liberating, exhilarating, or even utopic.
