Valley

Directed by Allan Zhang Tran

On a quiet morning like any other in California’s San Gabriel Valley, two friends — Ryan and Kev — play hooky during their senior year of high school. With nowhere to call refuge, the boys spend the day ambling the very streets they grew up in as they precociously talk girls, play rowdy and reminisce about their childhood. As day turns to night, their clashing personalities come to a head, compelling them to finally navigate the deep-seated emotions they’ve withheld from each other over the years. What starts as a day of effervescent youth ends in what feels like the final moments of boyhood.
