It’s a family affair for Aishwarya as she competes in the Spelling Bee. While training for the upcoming competition, Aishwarya starts to questions her relationship with her father as he pushes her to succeed. Unable to express her frustrations, the tension continues to brew into the competition where Aishwarya’s commitment to win, and what it represents, is put to the test.

About the filmmaker: Born in Tamil Nadu, India, and raised in Hyde Park, Chicago, Amrita Singh is a Writer/Director with her M.F.A. in Filmmaking from NYU Tisch School of the Arts where she later served as Adjunct Faculty. In addition to developing her feature film with the Production Lab Development Studio, she’s directing a short documentary in collaboration with Still I Rise films and works for Syrn Media, a company that utilizes a multifaceted approach to support women and BIPOC artists.
