Korean immigrant, Nevia No, is a classically trained singer and dancer who runs Bodhitree Farm in Pemberton, New Jersey. The conductor of a symphony of personalities and plants, Nevia must maintain equilibrium on the farm and provide for her farmhands, mother and daughter, Euni. As Nevia begins to think of the future of her farm, Euni is laid off from the restaurant industry and agrees to work with her mother during the pandemic. Nevia hopes that this season of farming will convince Euni to fall in love with the work and take over the family business.

Directors Bios:
Gabriella Canal, a Latinx documentary filmmaker living in New York City, tells stories rooted in identity and immigration, with a focus on women’s voices. As a producer, she’s worked with The Atlantic, John Leguizamo’s NGL Studios and Insignia Films. Her independent work as a director and DP has been featured by The New Yorker, The Video Consortium, The Student Academy Awards and the National Association of Latino Independent Producers. Her last short documentary, “No Man’s Land,” had its New York premiere at DOC NYC, and received the Audience Award for Best Short Film at The Florida Film Festival. She is a 2022 Pulitzer Center Fellow and an adjunct professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
Michael Fearon’s documentary work explores the dynamic relationship between people and the natural world. He has worked at the Council on Foreign Relations, where he helped produce educational videos around policymaking. Currently, he works as an associate producer at Blue Chalk Media, producing and directing episodes of The Cabin Chronicles. He is a 2022 Pulitzer Center Fellow.
